A visionary entrepreneur and an insightful businessman, Mr. Khondoker Monir Uddin was the founder and initial promoter who established the chemical business under the name of GDS Chemical in 1996 under the umbrella of Shanta Group. Mr. Monir embarked on his business journey in 1985. Over the years, his entrepreneurial spirit has led to successful ventures in diverse industries, including Ready-made Garments, Real Estate, Chemicals, Business Equipment & Machine Supply, Banking, Health Care, and Education.
With his visionary leadership and proven business acumen, Mr. Monir has earned a distinguished reputation as a successful entrepreneur in Bangladesh. He is the Co-founder and a key figure behind STS Group, Shanta Group, and Shanta Holdings Ltd. He is also one of the Sponsor Directors of Dhaka Bank Limited.
Driven by a commitment to addressing the evolving needs of society, Mr. Monir has played a pioneering role in establishing services of international standards. Notable among these are Evercare Hospitals Dhaka (the first and only US-JCI accredited hospital in Bangladesh), International School Dhaka, and Delhi Public School in Dhaka, along with other major initiatives across the country.
Beyond business, Mr. Monir is actively engaged in social welfare and philanthropic endeavors, particularly in supporting underprivileged children and women. He is also a member of several prestigious social organizations, including Dhaka Club Ltd., Gulshan Club Ltd., Uttara Club Ltd., and Kurmitola Golf Club. His business engagements and contributions have taken him to numerous countries worldwide.
